Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 3 lbs Chicken breasts, boneless skinless
  • 1 Basil, fresh For garnishing and added flavor
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 1 tsp Oregano, dried
  • 1/2 cup Sun-dried tomatoes Chopped if using whole
  • 3/4 cup Chicken broth Can substitute with vegetable broth
  • Black pepper, freshly cracked to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Red pepper flakes Adjust based on spice preference
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil For cooking
  • 1/2 cup Heavy cream Can substitute with Greek yogurt or coconut milk for a lighter option
  • 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese, grated fresh Add more for extra richness if desired

Instructions

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Season the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  • Add the chicken to the skillet and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-7 minutes per side.
  • Remove the chicken and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sun-dried tomatoes; sauté for 1-2 minutes.
  • Stir in the chicken broth, heavy cream, oregano, and bring to a simmer.
  • Add the cooked chicken back into the skillet and let it cook in the sauce for a few minutes.
  • Stir in the fresh basil and Parmesan cheese until melted and well combined.
  • Serve hot, garnished with additional basil if desired.

Notes

For best flavor, season chicken well. If you want a thicker sauce, simmer longer after adding heavy cream. Fresh herbs yield a brighter taste, but dried can be used if that's what you have on hand.
