  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup mashed bananas Make sure the bananas are ripe for the best flavor.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup cocoa powder For a stronger chocolate flavor, increase slightly.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (for topping) Consider using dark chocolate chips for a richer taste.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Mix well.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition.
  • Stir in the mashed bananas and vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Spread the batter into the prepared pan.
  • Sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let cool before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or refrigerate for up to a week.
