Ingredients

For the cake

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix Use your favorite brand.
  • 1 cup milk Any type of milk will work.

For the toppings

  • 1 cup caramel sauce Homemade or store-bought.
  • 1 cup crushed Heath bars For sprinkling on top.
  • 1 tub whipped topping Ready-made for convenience.
  • 1/2 cup chocolate syrup For drizzling before serving.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Prepare the chocolate cake mix according to package instructions and bake it in a 9x13 inch pan.
  • Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes.
  • Use the back of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the top of the warm cake.
  • In a bowl, mix together the milk and caramel sauce. Pour this mixture over the cake, ensuring the holes fill up with the caramel.

Topping and Serving

  • Allow the cake to cool completely, then top with whipped topping.
  • Sprinkle crushed Heath bars over the topping and drizzle with chocolate syrup.
  • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

Make sure to poke enough holes in the cake to allow the caramel to soak in well. You can use homemade caramel for a fresh taste, but store-bought works fine too. For added flavor, consider sprinkling a bit of sea salt on top of the whipped cream before serving.
