Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Optional Add-ins

  • 1 cup chocolate chips optional
  • 1 batch fudge frosting for topping

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract. Stir until combined. If using, fold in chocolate chips.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.

Baking

  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool completely in the pan.

Frosting and Serving

  • Once cool, frost with fudge frosting and serve.

Notes

Serve at room temperature, and consider pairing with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra treat. Store in an airtight container for up to three days at room temperature or one week in the refrigerator. Can be frozen for up to three months.
