  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup hot water

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  • Stir in milk and melted butter until well mixed.
  • Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
  • In a separate bowl, mix brown sugar and hot water. Pour this mixture over the batter (do not stir).

Baking

  • Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden and set.

Serving

  • Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

For an extra touch of flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg to the dry ingredients. Ensure that the baking dish is greased well to make removing the cobbler easier. If you prefer a thicker topping, you can adjust the amount of flour slightly. To store, allow to cool completely, then cover with plastic wrap or aluminum foil and refrigerate for up to three days. Reheat individual portions in the microwave.
