Ingredients

For the sliders

  • 1 package Savory Butter Hawaiian Rolls (12 count)
  • 12 slices black forest ham
  • 6 slices Havarti cheese

For the buttery topping

  • 4 tbsp salted butter Melted
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce Optional
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder Optional
  • 1 tbsp poppy seeds

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Slice the entire block of Hawaiian rolls in half without separating the rolls and set aside the top half.
  • Place the bottom half of the rolls in a lightly greased 9x12 baking pan.

Assembly

  • Layer each roll with a slice of ham and a half slice of cheese.
  • In a microwavable bowl, heat butter until melted, then stir in Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, and poppy seeds.
  • Add the top layer of rolls and brush with the butter-poppy seed mixture.

Baking

  • Loosely cover with foil and bake for about 15 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the tops of the buns are golden brown.

Serving

  • Cut the baked block into 12 sliders and serve warm.
  • Pair with pickles, chips, or a green salad, and enjoy a small sweet treat like cheesecake or brownies afterwards.

Notes

Use fresh Hawaiian rolls for the best texture. Warm the butter just until melted; do not overheat. Press slices of ham flat so they fit the rolls. A creamy side like Kentucky mac and cheese complements these sliders well.
