Ingredients
  

For the chicken

  • 500 g chicken breast, cut into pieces
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • Oil for frying

For the sauce

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, minced

For garnish

  • Spring onions for garnish

Preparation

  • In a bowl, coat the chicken pieces with cornstarch, flour, salt, and pepper.

Cooking

  • Heat oil in a pan and fry the chicken until golden brown and crispy.
  • In another pan, combine soy sauce, chili sauce, honey, vinegar, garlic, and ginger.
  • Add the fried chicken to the sauce and stir well.
  • Toss in the bell pepper and cook for another 2-3 minutes.

Serving

  • Garnish with spring onions and serve hot with rice.

Notes

Ensure the chicken is coated evenly with cornstarch and flour for a perfect crispy texture. Fry the chicken in batches if your pan is small to avoid overcrowding. Adjust the amount of chili sauce to make it hotter or milder. For extra crunch, you can add cashews or peanuts.
