Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs beef sirloin, sliced thinly
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 3 cups cooked rice

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a slow cooker, combine the sliced beef, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and beef broth. Stir well to combine.
  • Cover and cook on low for 5-6 hours, or until the beef is tender.
  • In the last 30 minutes of cooking, add the broccoli florets to the slow cooker.
  • Mix cornstarch with a bit of water to make a slurry, then stir it into the beef mixture to thicken the sauce.
  • Serve the beef and broccoli over cooked rice.

Notes

Serve this dish hot over a bed of fluffy cooked rice. Garnish with sesame seeds or sliced green onions. Pairs well with steamed dumplings or a simple salad. For best flavor, let the beef marinate in the sauce for an hour before cooking if you have time.
