Ingredients
  

For the Meatballs

  • 450 g ground beef or ground chicken
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup frozen peas
  • Salt and pepper to taste Salt and pepper

For the Sauce

  • 1/4 cup honey Maple syrup can be used as a substitute.
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Other Ingredients

  • 1 cup cooked rice Leftover cooked rice can be used.
  • Chopped green onions for garnish Adds a nice crunch and color.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a bowl, mix ground beef or chicken, breadcrumbs, frozen peas, salt, and pepper. Form into meatballs.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic.

Cooking

  • Cook the meatballs in a skillet until browned on all sides.
  • In a baking dish, combine cooked rice, meatballs, and honey garlic sauce.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until the meatballs are cooked through.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

You can prepare the meatballs and rice mixture ahead of time. If you prefer a lighter option, use ground turkey or plant-based meat. Cauliflower rice is a great low-carb alternative for the dish.
