Ingredients
  

Crust Ingredients

  • 2 cups crushed vanilla wafers
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (optional) Add for a sweeter crust

Pudding and Fruit Layers

  • 1 box instant vanilla pudding mix (3.4 oz)
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups sliced strawberries Fresh and ripe for best flavor
  • 2 bananas sliced
  • 1 cup whipped cream For topping

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine crushed vanilla wafers, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Mix until well combined.
  • Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9x13 inch dish to form a crust.

Pudding Layer

  • In another bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and milk until smooth and thickened.
  • Layer half of the pudding mixture over the crust.

Fruit Layer

  • Add a layer of sliced strawberries and bananas on top of the pudding.
  • Repeat with the remaining pudding mixture and top with more fruit.

Final Touch

  • Spread whipped cream over the top.
  • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

For storage, cover tightly with plastic wrap or aluminum foil, or transfer portions to airtight containers. Best enjoyed within the first couple of days for optimal flavor and texture. Gluten-free option available using gluten-free vanilla wafers.
