  • 2 cans 21 ounces each of strawberry pie filling
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened Make sure the cream cheese is softened before mixing for a smooth texture.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 box yellow cake mix You can experiment with different cake mix flavors for variety.
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries (optional, for garnish) Fresh strawberries make a lovely garnish.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and granulated sugar, and mix until smooth.
  • In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spread the strawberry pie filling evenly on the bottom.
  • Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the strawberry filling.
  • Evenly sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix over the top of the cream cheese and strawberry layers.
  • Drizzle the melted butter over the top of the cake mix.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes, or until bubbly and golden brown.
  • Let cool before serving.

Notes

Store any leftover dump cake in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 3 to 4 days. Reheat individual portions in the microwave for a quick treat. Consider adding a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence.
