Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a pie pan.
  • In a large bowl, whisk the eggs and sugar until well combined.
  • Stir in the melted butter and vanilla extract.
  • Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt; then add to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pie pan and spread it evenly.

Baking

  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still slightly gooey.
  • Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature with vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce, or powdered sugar. Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for 3-4 days, or freeze for up to 2 months. Use quality cocoa for the best flavor and avoid overbaking for a gooey center. Consider adding nuts or chocolate chips for variations.
