Chicken Kofta with Creamy Garlic Yogurt Sauce

Ingredients
  

For the Kofta

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • to taste salt and pepper

For the Garlic Yogurt Sauce

  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • to taste salt
  • for garnish fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped onion, minced garlic, ground cumin, ground coriander, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well until combined.
  • Shape the mixture into oval-shaped kofta and thread them onto soaked wooden skewers.

Cooking

  • Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat and cook the kofta for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked through.
  • Meanwhile, prepare the creamy garlic yogurt sauce by mixing the yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, and salt in a small bowl.

Serving

  • Serve the chicken kofta hot with the garlic yogurt sauce drizzled on top, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

Use cold hands to shape the kofta so the mixture stays firm. Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container.
