  • 4 chicken thighs, bone-in and skin-on
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Use gluten-free soy sauce for a gluten-free option
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil Substitute with sesame oil for a nuttier flavor
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: sesame seeds and green onions for garnish

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a bowl, mix the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and olive oil.
  • Season the chicken thighs with salt and pepper.
  • Place the chicken thighs in a baking dish and pour the honey garlic mixture over them, ensuring they are well coated.

Cooking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the glaze is bubbly.
  • Optional: garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.

Notes

Pat the skin dry for crispier skin. Use a meat thermometer; internal temp should reach 165°F (74°C). If the sauce is thin after baking, place the dish under the oven broiler for 1-2 minutes to thicken, watching closely. Turn thighs once during baking for an even glaze. Taste the sauce and add more soy or honey for desired saltiness or sweetness.
