Meatball Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef Use lean or regular ground beef as desired.
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg Helps to bind the meatballs.
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 packet French onion soup mix Store-bought or homemade mix.
  • 1 cup beef broth Keeps meatballs moist during cooking.
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded Sprinkle on top before serving.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Season meatball mixture.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, mix ground beef, bread crumbs, chopped onion, egg, Parmesan cheese, and French onion soup mix until combined.
  • Form the mixture into meatballs and place them in the crockpot.
  • Pour beef broth over the meatballs.

Cooking

  • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours, until meatballs are cooked through.
  • About 30 minutes before serving, sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top and cover until melted.

Notes

Cool meatballs to room temperature and store in an airtight container. They can be refrigerated for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
