  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Low-sodium soy sauce works well for less salt.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

Preparation

  • Place chicken breasts in the crockpot.
  • In a small bowl, mix together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, apple cider vinegar, salt, and pepper.
  • Pour the sauce over the chicken in the crockpot.

Cooking

  • Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender.
  • Shred the chicken with two forks and stir to coat in the sauce.
  • Serve warm, garnished with chopped green onions if desired.

Notes

Let the chicken cool to room temperature before storing. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat gently before serving. Optional: Try browning the chicken before adding to the crockpot for added flavor.
