Strawberry Berlins are a delightful treat that combines the softness of dough with the sweetness of whipped cream and the vibrant flavor of strawberries. If you’re in the mood for a dessert that’s both indulgent and satisfying, you’re in for a treat with this recipe!

Ingredients:

For your strawberry berlins, gather these ingredients:

  • 300g of flour
  • 1 egg
  • 45g of sugar
  • A pinch of salt
  • 7g of dry yeast
  • 140ml of warm milk
  • 40g of softened butter

For decoration:

  • Whipped cream
  • Chopped strawberries
  • Powdered sugar

Preparation:

Let’s create these delectable Strawberry Berlins step by step:

  1. Prepare the Yeast Mixture: In a medium bowl, combine the sugar, dry yeast, and warm milk. Stir until the sugar and yeast have dissolved.
  2. Mix the Dough: Beat the egg in a separate bowl. Add the flour and a pinch of salt. Begin mixing the ingredients together with a spatula. Gradually incorporate the flour into the egg mixture. As the dough forms, knead it with your hands until it becomes elastic.
  3. Incorporate Butter: Add the softened butter to the dough and continue kneading until the butter is completely integrated.
  4. Let the Dough Rise: Shape the dough into a ball, cover it with a kitchen towel or plastic wrap, and allow it to rise for about an hour. This allows the dough to become light and fluffy.
  5. Divide and Rest: After the dough has risen, divide it into 8 equal parts. Roll each part into a ball and cover them. Let them rest for 30 minutes.
  6. Shape the Berlins: Take each ball and flatten it slightly. Then, roll it back into a ball shape. Cover them again and let them rest for an additional 30 minutes.
  7. Fry the Berlins: Heat some oil in a pan over low heat. Carefully fry the dough balls for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until they turn golden brown.
  8. Assemble: Allow the fried dough balls to cool slightly, and then cut them in half lengthwise, similar to a hamburger bun.
  9. Add Toppings: Spread a generous amount of whipped cream on one half of the berlin and top it with chopped strawberries. Place the other half on top, like a sandwich. Finish it off by dusting powdered sugar over the top.

And there you have it! Your Strawberry Berlins are ready to be enjoyed. They’re perfect for a sweet indulgence or to share with family and friends.

This dessert combines the warmth of freshly fried dough with the coolness of whipped cream and the fruity goodness of strawberries. It’s a delightful treat that’s sure to satisfy your cravings. Enjoy!
