A cupcake shop that exclusively sells pink frosted cupcakes has become very popular in the Cape Cod community of Provincetown. ScottCakes is run by Scott Cunningham, a former actor and amateur baker who moved to the Cape from New York. Cunningham said he got the idea to sell his signature pink cupcakes through meditation. to him, it’s the interaction he has with his loyal customers. “I see kids growing up, doing people’s weddings and babies and openings and events,” he said. “The people here are such fans and so supportive and have so much fun. It’s really the best part of the job.” Cunningham’s cupcakes have inspired some customers so much that ScottCakes has an art wall with pictures from fans who range from young children to world-renowned local artists. In return, Cunningham remains committed to his customers and sends his scones so people can get them in the winter. There’s even one incredible story where he hand-delivered some ScottCakes to customers in Hawaii.” I was at the Fancy Food Show in San Francisco, I think it was in 2019, and I have friends in Hawaii, and I started looking at the flights. I’m like, ‘Oh, can I come?’ They’re like, ‘Come on,’ and I went to Hawaii,” Cunningham said. “The email where I got the orders didn’t go through. I missed this order. I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I have to tell these people I can’t get them ,’ and it goes to Honolulu,” he added. “I’m like, ‘That can’t be. It can’t be’.” I checked the address and it was about 10 minutes from the airport, on the way.
