It’s a new month, and that means a new monthly cookie special at Gideon’s Bakehouse in Disney Springs. The Coconut Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookie is back for July and the Key Lime Chocolate Chip is back at the Flavors of Florida festival.

Lydia Lovecraft returns to the front lines of the menu this month. Read her story below.
Lydia Lovecraft’s Strange Song
Known as the Spooky Uka-Lady, Lydia Lovecraft worked as a sought-after medium who traveled the countryside reuniting broken hearts with loved ones. Although she had a hauntingly beautiful voice, her true power came from the mesmerizing melodies that flowed from the mystical ukulele she played. Made of little more than a coconut shell and scraps of sandalwood, this instrument could summon slumbering spirits.

Key Lime Chocolate Chip Cookie – $6.00
vanilla bean cookie dough infused with Florida lime juice and topped with chocolate chips and our special key lime pie crumble.

Because this cookie is returning to Flavors of Florida, it will be available until August 13th instead of leaving at the end of July.

The Key Lime Chocolate Chip Cookie is the standard nearly 1/2 pound version and looks very similar to their original chocolate chip, but topped with sea salt and crumbs. The rich chocolate chips and underbaked dough you’ve grown accustomed to are present.

The lime flavor is subtle and matches the look and feel of their Original Chocolate Chip Cookie with just a squeeze of key lime for flavor. Key lime usually has a very strong, tangy flavor, so we were expecting more of a punch with this one, but it cut through the chocolate and salt nicely – just not as in-your-face as you’d expect.
Baked Coconut Caramel Cookie – $6

This cookie is a must for coconut lovers.

The caramel cookie is moist and perfectly baked. The caramel flavor is not overwhelming.

It is coated with chocolate and coconut flakes. Coconut flakes tend to fall off, but add a crunch when bitten into.

Like many of Gideon’s Bakehouse cookies, it’s also sprinkled with sea salt to help break up the sweetness of the chocolate.

Both limited-time cookies are worth a visit to Gideon’s Bakehouse.
