Three bars now serve pizza on one downtown block Sunny’s Pizzeria, but the newest location is the only one that offers them at lunchtime. Orion pub, which is open daily from 11 a.m. to midnight, offers five ready-to-eat specialty pizzas and a classic pepperoni. Each pizza is baked for 10 to 15 minutes. Orion is co-owned by Sunny founder Jon Oppoldo. Other wholesale partners in the city center are EightyOne Arcade Bar, which has a full kitchen and menu, and Glacial Lakes Distillery & Brewhouse, which sells ready-made pizzas.
We missed telling you about it Oh my cupcake National Cat Day Cupcakes, but here’s a cupcake from Saturday’s National Dog Day. The bakery is accepting orders for six-packs with three dog designs in each: Corgi, Westie and Cavalier King Charles. You get two chocolate, two vanilla and two vanilla almonds. Singles will be available in two stores while supplies last.
In celebration of National Dog Day, Scooter’s Coffee gives away pumpkin spice cups on Saturdays. The first 15 dogs to stop at each location will receive a free scarf. People can enjoy the return of fall pumpkin spice offerings.
Celebrate the end of summer with select Taste of New England menus at 22 Ten kitchen cocktails. Separate menus are available for lunch and dinner. Available for lunch and dinner: Seaside Salad, Flatbread White Clam and Boston Cream Pie Tower. Lunch only: Lobster Sliders and Yankee Beef Commercial. Dinner only: Lobster Cakes, Cracker Crusted Cod and Yankee Style Short Ribs. Featured drinks include the lychee martini, blueberry maple Old-Fashioned, and vanilla hazelnut iced coffee with vanilla vodka and Frangelico.
The Ultimate Endless Shrimp specialty is back Red lobster. Combine options for $20, dinner only. Choose three shrimp dishes and the servers will bring more. New this year: Crispy Dragon Shrimp. Other options include Shrimp Rangoon, Garlic Shrimp, Grilled Shrimp Skewers, Walt’s Favorite Shrimp, and Shrimp Linguini Alfredo.
After this week’s hot weather led to the cancellation of events for Brosia bowl food truck, the downtown location in the Jones421 Building is offering a buy one get one half price special on salads while the extra food is gone. Opening hours are Fridays from 11:00am to 4:00pm and Saturdays from 11:00am to 7:00pm. Owner Darcy Green donated some of the extra food she planned to use for the tacos and curry bowls to The Banquet.
Donate a box of tissues and get a free beer at Ken’s Corner. The bar will accept donations until September 15th and then donate them to Hawthorne Elementary School.
Changes to opening hours, service
- Josiah’s Coffee House, Café & Bakery added online ordering.
- Beautiful restaurant with Italian cuisine no longer serves lunch. The new opening hours are weekdays from 16:30 to 20:30 and Saturdays from 11:30 to 20:30.
- Saturday is the last day Polar Bites’ 41st Street location and has new hours for its downtown site: 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 1 to 9 p.m. Saturday.
- Addiction to golf canceled Food Truck Tuesday this week due to the heat, but added September 19 as the last event of the season.
- Correction to 611 is closed on Sundays until further notice. The pub is undergoing a construction project.
- Cellar 54 has new opening hours: from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday to Friday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. Hours later for special events and Thursday night wine tasting.
