Pokimane is re-evaluating cookie prices after backlash to fans’ “broken” joke

Content creator Pokimane has apologized to fans for a recent joke she made about her viewers being too “broke” to support the price of her cookies, and is now trying to rethink her price after receiving a lot of backlash for being “path”.

Pokimane is one of the most famous content creators in the world. The streamer is best known for playing video games, collaborating with other streamers, and calling out sexism and misogyny in the gaming space.

However, Poki found herself apologizing for recent comments she made on stream when she called out her “broken” fans who criticized the price of her controversial Myna biscuits.

“When people are like ‘oh my god $28 for cookies.’ It’s four bags, that’s $7 a bag. I know, I know math is hard when you’re an idiot. But if you’re broke, say so,” Pokimane said in her Nov. 18 stream.

Following the backlash online, Pokimane has now taken to Twitter to apologize for the comments, claiming she only meant them as a “joke”.

“While what I said was 100% intended as a joke, I understand why it came across as insensitive and I apologize for it,” Pokiumane said in a tweet posted on November 19.

Pokimane then revealed that she would “continue to consider the pricing” of her Myna biscuits as a result of the negative reaction from her viewers.

“I also understand that the current price of cookies may be expensive for some, and I promise that we will continue to consider prices to make myna as affordable as possible.”

Time will tell what new pricing model Pokimane will release and what it will look like for her fans. However, once they publish more details about their cookies, we will let you know.
