Beef Pepper Steak is a delectable dish that’s both quick to make and bursting with savory flavors. Whether you’re cooking for a special occasion or a weeknight dinner, this recipe is sure to impress. Let’s dive in!

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb sirloin steak, sliced into thin strips
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 yellow onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Rice, for serving

Instructions:

Preparing the Sauce

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and water until the mixture is smooth. Set this mixture aside.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, dried thyme, and paprika. Set this mixture aside as well.

Cooking the Steak

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over high heat.
  2. Add the sliced sirloin steak to the hot skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until it’s browned on all sides. Once browned, remove the steak from the skillet and set it aside.

Sautéing the Vegetables

  1. In the same skillet, add the sliced red and green bell peppers, along with the sliced yellow onion and minced garlic. Sauté these vegetables for 3-5 minutes, or until they become tender and slightly caramelized.

Combining Ingredients

  1. Return the cooked steak to the skillet with the sautéed vegetables.
  2. Pour the beef broth mixture over the top and stir in the cornstarch mixture until the ingredients are well combined.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil, and then reduce the heat to low. Allow it to simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened and the steak is cooked to your liking. Stir occasionally.

Season and Serve

  1. Season the Beef Pepper Steak with salt and black pepper to taste, adjusting the seasoning to your preference.
  2. Serve this delicious dish over a bed of cooked rice.

Enjoy

  1. Get ready to savor the delightful flavors of your homemade Beef Pepper Steak. It’s a perfect combination of tender steak, colorful bell peppers, and a savory sauce that’s bound to impress your taste buds.
